Massive is 11 miles SW of the historic town of Leadville, Colorado (elevation 10,200 feet), just a few miles east of the Continental Divide. This view is from the east on the drive in to the trailhead. Massive has the distinction of having 5 peaks above 14,000 feet, along a 3 mile ridge. The destination of the various hiker's routes is the highest of these, though it is possible to visit all 5 for those who are so inclined.
