This is just after the doc reset my finger. He's preparing to "buddy tape" it to the next finger for stability. He used padded moleskin, which has an adhesive backing. It worked great. (I now carry some in my pack for emergencies.) He then used the ace bandage which was my sling to wrap around the taping. In this picture, Kevin is standing just behind me, and the other hikers are the rest of the doc's group.
